Staff Positions

Arts Commissioner

In addition to the duties outlined in the Constitution for General Staff, Arts Commissioners are responsible for:

  • Recommending art policies to the Intercollegiate Council and Executive Board;
  • Maintaining awareness of the arts community and their events in Northern California;
  • Recommending, participating, attending, and/or organizing programs and events that enhances creativity and community appreciation of the arts in Northern California;
  • Managing the relationships between UVSA and arts-based groups, including community organizations, campus institutions, and VSA committees & officers;
  • Managing and developing the creative talent of youths within the UVSA network;
  • Supporting the activities of UVSA—including serving its committees, commissions, and constituents—on artistic endeavors;
  • Participate in monthly meetings, annual retreats, and summits/conferences;
  • Act as an art advisor to other community organizations.
Additionally, the Arts Commissioner Chair is responsible for:
  • Representing UVSA as its arts official;
  • Organizing monthly meetings, annual retreats, and summits/conferences for the Arts Commission and its constituents.

Webmaster General

The Webmaster General oversees the image and direction of the UVSA website and the development of the Web Committee, as well as acting in advisory for Web Committees or Webmasters of affiliated VSAs and other organizations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruit and train members of the Web Committee.
  • Maintain a roster and/or network of webmasters, web designers, and web producers.
  • Define the overall strategy of UVSA's website presence.
  • Advise affiliated VSA Webmasters or Web Committees on website production and design practices.
  • Maintain and advertise a list of web production projects for UVSA, its affiliate VSAs, and UVSA partners.

Web Producer

The Web Producer's role is to administer the production of content onto the UVSA website. The Web Producer will be in charge of ensuring daily maintenance of the websites, and managing special projects that includes expanding the web presence of UVSA and its affiliated programs. Key responsibilities include:
  • Work with assigned committees to update appropriate website section with content.
  • Coordinate and develop new website sections or websites as necessary.
  • Manage and synchronize web accounts.
  • Ensure consistency of assigned websites and web sections with overall public image of UVSA.
